I do love a clear Maine sky. This was a couple days ago. Now there's no sun to be found. Rain, rain go away.

Almost forgot...

On the plane back to the States from the DR, high above the Atlantic Ocean, this guy Fabio proposed to his girlfriend. The flight attendants let him come up to the front of the plane and do it over the intercom and everything. She said yes.
I'd never witnessed a proposal before, and I was getting so anxious and excited to hear her answer even though I didn't know either of those people. I can only imagine how she felt.

Miss this

Hard to believe that Santo Domingo and Old Town, Maine are on the same planet.

Journey home begins

Just hopped on the Amtrak train in Stamford, CT to South Station in Boston. Then bussin' it back up to Bangor. Needless to say it'll be a long day.

It's hard to believe that I was wearing a winter coat three days ago. The Dominican Republic has absolutely surpassed my expectations. This hotel is fabulous; the beaches are gorgeous; the weather is a dream.

Because of my 15% battery life, I'll not be able to post new pictures right now, but I have some backtracking to do anyway.

We drove down Friday to Greenwich, CT to stay with some friends, and Saturday they took us into New York City. We checked out the Museum of Natural History, ate some sushi, and then SHOPPING.

My friend Cary has the sweetest dogs I've ever met. Portuguese Water Dogs, love them. This is Bo.

African animals at the museum. Everything looked like it was about to come back to life.

By far my favorite room at the museum: Marine Animals. First thing you see when you walk in is a life-sized Blue Whale suspended from the ceiling. I know they're huge, but holy shit.

Dinosaurs! If Sam was still little and cute and set on archaeology this would have been his heaven.

Lunch: delicioso. Just what I needed after a day spent walking through the city.

Much, much more to come. Adios, friends!
